Chickens suffocating in 1 block high spaces

This is extremely easy to reproduce! The chickens are suffocating while jumping.
1. Create a 2 block deep hole, and place water in the bottom space.
2. Spawn several chickens inside until they start jumping.
3. Place a solid block directly above the hole, and watch all of the chickens die from suffocation.

Still a concern in 14w08a. but the description is inexact. It happens when chickens are jumping to or in a block of air with a solid block above it, their heads then collide with the said block and make them suffocate.

It can easily be reproduced, and therefore confirmed, by making the chicken jump on a block, with a ceiling only 1 meter above it.

I attached an image to show how to reproduce it easily.

Note that this can also happen with a 2 meters high ceiling. The only condition is for the chicken to jump. On the attached image, you could remove the left part of the ceiling and still see the chicken suffocate.

It might be related to MC-9568.

This bug appears also with (adult) cows. I push cows with water streams from dispensers through a two block high gap (redstone blocks and redstone lamps as the upper part of the gate). As long as the water is not flowing, the cows don't take damage. But, when the water pushes the cows and makes them jump (swim), they suffocate to death.

FVbico: this ticket is about chickens taking damage when jumping; the chickens in your example aren't jumping, are they? The other screenshots have water, which makes them jump (when large numbers of them are crowded).

O, yeah then they do take damage that way, but before I did another test with a block higher waiting for them to jump out, and they didn't take damage when they jumped out, I added a screenshot about that test, that gives diffrent results, I spawned them all in the middle, none took damage
