Disappearing (and then reappearing) TNT

I was playing mine craft and felt like using TNT.

I went to a village and set some TNT.

I accidentally pressed esc in the last second of its fuse,

I thought when i pressed esc again it would blow up,

Instead it disappeared and then after up to 5 seconds it blows.
How to do this:
1.put down TNT
2.light it
3. in the last fraction of a second, press esc and after 1 second press it again.

It should do this.
P.S i was actually using 1.6.2
