[MC-50564] Updated to snapshot 14w10c (1.8) and everything in my minecraft files vanished

I simply updated to the new snapshot 14w10c and when it loaded no world saves, no servers listed, no resource packs, absolutely nothing was there and when i check the minecraft folders it was all reset to have nothing in it.

This is a serious bug as you lose everything once you update and so pls fix fast.

Are you certain you did not set a different directory through your profiles?

just loaded a backup and all my chest and inventory was cleared in my survival world

I always use the same directory, the default directory

Please keep in mind as well that version downgrading is not supported.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.

Keep in mind that the "Resolved"-Status on this ticket just means "Answered", and that we are waiting for further information on whether this issue still exists or not. We will reopen it as soon as the requested information has been delivered.

i didn't have this issue again for any other snapshot after this one, and i am in pre release 3 for 1.8.1 and currently this bug isn't a bug anymore.
