I typed in /summon Giant ~ ~ ~ {Equipment:[{},{},{},{},{id:397}]} and it summoned up the giant and the skull is not visible. I know they should wear armor but the skulls just don't render.

Although this ticket will be marked as invalid, I can confirm. Giants can indeed wear an armor (see http://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/1x4dw5/giants_wearing_armor_is_nothing_try_slimes/cf8b45n?context=3) so they should be able to wear a skull too.

Invalid, giants are partially implemented unsupported mobs and were created as a proof of concept.
