When logging onto my online server Player's have different inventories / world coordinates depending on if the server is set to online-mode=true OR online-mode=false.
Additionally; I have noticed that the /op online-mode=true/false has been updated to resolved (Works As Intended) Will there be a migration step that will update servers that where in offline mode such that the inventories of players and their positions in the world will be ported to the new "functionality" of online-mode=true? 🙂 Just hoping 😃

No no, convert patch before updating to snapshot / 1.8 for servers that have been running in online-mode=false. Maybe this is what the 1.7.6 release is intending to do.
Of course everyone has backups ... well hopefully ... especially if they are testing snapshots. 😉
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 14w19a / Launcher version 1.3.11 or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Right now, if the server was in offline mode in first-run, you permanently lose the chance to convert your existing ops, whitelist and bans to uuids. Obviously responsible admins will have backups, but I do think being able to convert afterwards could be useful
