cannot create end portal on creative

you can no longer create an end portal in creative
even if you make sure to line up the end portal frames to the center and fill it all the way up with eyes of ender and it will not work UPDATE: natural portals work. more importantly, for it works BUT ONLY if you place the portal blocks from the center of where you want portal to be. if you fly AROUND the portal site placing blocks, even if you make sure to place them in the same orientation as if you were placing it from the inside, it does not seem to work, at least for me
also, i have tried gifting my self the frame pieces and eyes and trying is survival, and the same rules seem to apply... do end portal frames have FOUR orientations? update again.... i am just stupid... i was unaware that they do have 4 orientations. sorry. (p.s. that is kind of strange, because they have a texture that suggests it should be only 2. you'd think that it would work as long as the texture lined up...)
