Whenever I get on Minecraft the servers appear to be working, so I tried to get on one. The first one didn't work, neither did the second, or third, etc. I am confused and worried that I will be forced to only play single player from now on. Mostly I am wondering if it is the servers' problems or Mojang's, or even possibly Java's?! I hope this can be solved by either Minecraft or the servers. I am hopeful for quick answers so I can get onto my servers as soon as possible!

I recommend making a second profile in the launcher. Be sure to click the "game directory" checkbox and add \ and a foldername to the end of the path (for example: C:\Users\Alexa\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\SAVES 1.75 ). This will make it run out of a different saves directory and insure you never open a map with an earlier version accidentally (that can mess up maps). This also works with other earlier versions of course, if you've ever wanted to check out InfDev for example, or Beta 1.73 (the beta versions are what came before release v1.0).
Servers do not always update immediately. You may need to run an older version of MC until they update, as the latest versions are not backwards compatible.
