A friend is paying for a realms server for us to play on, the server has an idle kick which is excessively aggressive. Players get kicked within 10 minutes and there is no way to circumvent or change this time limit, I have even been kicked while riding in a minecart, I don't see how riding in a minecart counts as idling. The kick (which I assume is meant to limit server usage) is excessive and makes mob farming, waiting for item smelting and a variety of other in game tasks impossible, and with no way to change the idle kick time (even though there already exists a vanilla command for it) means players are forced to done mundane actions like toggle their mouse to make sure they don't get kicked while waiting.
This issue seems like an insult to players who are paying Mojang for a Realms server but can't choose how they want to play on the server they pay for, kicking players off their own server for not moving every five minutes is not a reasonable way to save on server costs.

This is not a technical support issue, I have been kicked while riding a minecart and while be carried by water currents, I don't see how either of those instances can be considered idling. To make it worse the only we've found to "fix" this problem is the command /setidletimeout <minutes> and the owner/payer of the Realm is unable to execute said command.
So there are two issues here, the idle kick (which seems to be input based instead of movement based) makes no exception for minecarts (or any other "vehicle" I assume) or being moved by external things like water or mobs and that an already existing command meant for multiplayer doesn't work on Mojangs own service.
If this is a technical support issue, does that mean that there is, in fact, a way for Realms servers to adjust the idle time-out? I would also like to have a somewhat longer time-out. Say, 15mins, or there abouts?
This is a technical support issue. For technical support please use the Mojang Support Center.
