Minecart Lighting problem

When riding minecarts the objects i hold inside the minecart are very dark (also applies to the "empty handed" mode)

Might not be visible in the screenshot but the map i'm holding is not 100% black, when in fullscreen and staring at it I can make out the map, but it clearly is bugged 🙂
