Slimeblocks can block pistons

If you use a piston to push a slime block, the slime block will try to move all adjacent blocks as if they were psuhed by the piston. If it can't (for instance, if the slime block is on top of a flatworld with no holes), the piston won't push. However, if the slime block is next to a block that can't be pushed by a piston, it won't "try" to push it and will work more or less fine.

I'm not 100% it's a bug, but it's worth reporting anyway.

How to reproduce : build the contraptions in the image. (the left one is basically the control group)

What you have on the left side of the image should extend and move the slime block and the block below.
The thing on the right side can't move as a block of the structure (stone) is blocked by the obsidian. So it works as intended 😉

Okay, but shouldn't the slimeblock move anyway, without trying to push the stone ?

That would be more logical that the piston can push stronger than the friction force is between the slime and stone

I have a slime block in front of a piston in a world covered by half slabs, so 1/2 block between slimeblock and slabs. Piston will not attach at all to slime block. It will not push, it will not pull.

This picture shows my setup, piston will not push at all. Likewise, the second set up will not pull at all. Note even a single block for either.

Confirmed? shouldn't it be invalid as its intended behaviour?

Only Mojang can decide if this behaviour is a bug or intended. I did only confirm the described behaviour.

Clearly intended. Video from the co-author of the sticky slime blocks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIK2l4KGB_8
