ID's

Works as intended. For 1.8, you no longer use ID numbers to get items. You use item names:

/give @p lit_furnace

Is there a list with those names somewhere?

Type

/give @p minecraft:

and then press the TAB key on your keyboard.

Or you can place the item, then press F3, and see what Minecraft calls the block.
