You can walk through an extended piston head that's facing west

When you walk into an extended piston head which is facing west (see attachment) from the side, you can walk through the rod. It seems to be easier to do when walking south than when walking north. For all other directions the piston can be facing everything works fine, you can't walk through the rod or the head.
