In both gamemodes, placing a piston while facing east then powering it will allow you to talk through the piston head.
Walking through these piston while facing north makes the heads act as if they are a full block, meaning you can't walk to the piston arm itself.
What I expected to happen was...:
What happens when the piston faces any other direction, you cannot walk through it.
What actually happened was...:
You could walk through it
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Face EAST
2. Place any kind of piston, one on top of each other
3. Power both pistons in any way
4. Face the arm from the south
5. Walk southwest so you are stuck between the arm and head of the piston
6. Walk southeast into the piston head

Confirmed to still happen in 13w09b.
I first found out about it by falling through while walking on top. XD
EDIT: I meant b.
This bug breaks farms like the tripwire enderman farm because mobs get stuck inside the piston arm, so the pistons are constantly powered (because the mob steps on the pressure plate) and never retract. Voted.
confirmed in 13w21b. Walking south allows player (in any gamemode) and some mobs to pass through the "arm". Walking north will only allow player to pass through if they jump near the piston first.
Fixed somewhere between 15w34d and 15w44b, probably with MC-1635.
Incorrect, Piston arms don't let go pass through when facing directions with the exception of facing west. Which means only Facing West will let player go through.
Confirmed in 13w04a.
