randomTickSpeed affecting buttons, pressure plates, etc.

When changing the gamerule randomTickSpeed to a value other than 3 causes button and pressure plate pulse length to change.

This is intended. randomTickSpeed basically just speeds up certain things.

Yes, working as Intended as far I know.

Just a question, the time buttons and pressure plates pulse isn't really random, is it?
Also repeaters are effected by this, pretty cool if this is a real feature.

I hope this is a bug, because that command can be really usefull in adventures maps, but redstone, button, etc... are used a lot. That will mess up every redstone circuit that have a precise delay :/

I just wanted to report it, but you did it before 🙂
Please, if you are reading this comment, vote for that issue 🙂
Thx

Here is the normal button delay (randomTickSpeed = 3)

Here is a faster delay (randomTickSpeed = 999)

Not that it is relevant to this issue, but i don't think circuits will be messed up because every redstone component works faster.

Confirmed for 14w21b:
/gamerule randomTickSpeed 1000
The button seems to be pressed just half a second with some exceptions...

Samuel Klumpers

I guess the bug here is that the delay on the button is random not the fact it's sped up.

MC-56541 is more detailed, making it the main ticket.
