When standing on ice, there is a round 'shadow' under the player, This doesn't happen with packed ice.

Im on a superflat world with 1x bedrock, 3x stone, 52x ice. The 'shadow' seems to be affected by the render distance.
This is probably because your on a void world, with ice. And your render distance is so low you see the void, through the ice.
And the packed ice is considered a "solid block", so you cannot see through it.
I am not in a void world, I am in a superflat world, which has bedrock and stone underneath all the ice.
Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report ([minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder]

I think it's just the blocks bleow the ice just jendering, when render distance = normal
best seen in kumasasa's picture, on the far edges, there it stops rendering
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.
