Glass panes on slime block mess up bouncing

If a glass pane is on top of a slime block which is on top of an upwards-facing piston, when standing on the slime block (glass pane is connected to others) while the piston extends, you only get pushed up on block, instead of flying up.

Can confirm – but (small suggestion) maybe the title can describe more the bug's concrete effects (messes up bouncing), rather than its abstract effects (messes up mechanisms)

This is working by design, the glass pane snaps into it's cross form if no other glass panes are besides it in extended place, and the player stands inside the cross formed glass pane.
If there are other glass panes in the upper position the bouncing will work as usual (screenshots 2 ..4)

Unfortunately, as my screenshots show, my setup doesn't really allow more glass panes as they won't be pulled back down without extra pistons.

Never mind, I found a solution. It would be helpful if the bouncing wasn't broken though.

Seems to be a bug

No, seems to be by design.

I agree that this is intended. It works as expected in every situation except for when the connecting panes on the side are being pushed up at the same time, when they all become cross-panes and no boost occurs.
