I am using Multiplayer. The server is set for "Far". The Server is using Java 7 Update 10 which is 64-bit. After I start Minecraft, and Change the settings to "Options / Video Settings / Graphics Fancy", I get a red message that says, "A 64 bit Java installation is recommended for 'Far' render distance (you have 32 bit). When going back to the game, I have sluggish and lagging video which misses frames. This can be solved by changing to "Options / Video Settings / Graphics Fast".

Thats because of your Java installation is 32 Bit and not (as recommended) 64 Bit. Its just a message that it works better with a 64 Bit installation. If your system is 32 Bit, you cant use the 64 Bit installation. So this is not a bug. You can search for "Is my system 64 Bit" to find instructions how to check that. If your system is 64 Bit, you can go to java.com to download the right version.

Moritz,

After checking that I do have a 64 bit Windows Operating System (Server 2008), I uninstalled Java 7 Update 9. Then I tried to install Java 7 Update 10 for Windows 64-bit operating system. I get an error message that says, “Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded. I cannot find out why this is happening. Without Java installed, there will be no Minecraft server. I’m still looking for a solution. Anyt ideas?

Alan, if you don't want to publicly show your e-mail address , you should either do not respond by e-mail or at least remove the original part of the incoming mail (I deleted your e-mail address for now)

You have insufficient rights on your PC, you should install new software as administrator or simliar user account.

But this all is not a Minecraft bug, it's a technical support issue; this site is for bug reports only. For technical support please use the Mojang Support Center.
