in survival, is possible to place torches of damage 5 on air. if you try to place a torch on another torch it will look like this screenshot

Confirmed when placing a torch on another torch, but I could not place it on air. However, since this is not a torch that should be obtainable without the intent of getting this bug, I do not think it will be fixed.
How on earth did you come across this anyways? Normally I don't /give myself items with random damage values to test them out...
sorry if i didn't explain right, what i want to say is the torch have a damage 5 (in ground) even if don't exist a block under it, i cannot give damage torches to a player. i just explain it wrong 😃
