A floating torch
If you place a torch under a block its floating. normaly nothing happens because you can't place a torch there.

Confirmed. I added a screenshot from my own finding of this bug. In 14w25b
EDIT: I was able to do it, at certain angles, when aiming at the hitbox of the torch.
In fact that that issue is only half fixed.
Placing torches below a block is fixed, but placing torches over another torch in front of a wall is not fixed.
Therefore reopening MC-57714
@@unknown: In 14w25 misplaced torches won't automatically re-align.
You don't have to specifically place a torch under something, any time you place a torch against an invalid block (like another torch, or cobweb), the torch will try to place against an adjacent block (which it is supposed to do) but the metadata doesn't get set properly so the torch appears in the wrong orientation and will drop if it gets a block update.
