Cactus can grow next to blocks

confirmed with Snapshot 13w01a. Added screenshot.. wasn't waiting for all of them to grow

It does work in Creative (singleplayer), it happens in SMP for me. Haven't tried survival singleplayer yet.

This bug doesn't seem to be fixed in snapshot 13w01b.

Testing in 13w01b, cacti with blocks next to where they grow break off just like they used to (that is, this bug is fixed). I also note that cactus breaking whether "automatic" or by player-placed blocks now causes particles and sound effect whereas it used to be silent.

I found out about this bug using 13w01b, so I don't think that got fixed there yet. And they always made particals and noise 🙂

Cacti now first grow, then break when blocks besides them.

Reopened as regression.

Got it working now, had to manually destroy the grown cactus for it to work (since there were no updates around it anymore)

@Kumasasa: How is that a bug, as opposed to how cacti have always worked (with more effects, but the same block behavior)? Note the original bug was about cacti actually surviving next to blocks.

The original bug is of course fixed, but the behaviour is different now.
Originally cacti didn't grow at all besides blocks, now they try to grow and drop blocks.
Maybe this is intended, maybe not.
