Paintings over fences

lol, workflow has always been a little confusing to me.

That is because a fence is technically 1.5 blocks high for entities like a painting. So if there is a fence below where a painting should be, the .5 part keeps it from getting placed. Not a glitch.

Well the fence's texture is not that heigh Bobby. Thats why I say this is a bug

Look, the fence's texture is only one block high, so you should be able to jump over it. But it is really 1.5, so you can't.

And to me it does sound like a bug, you can place blocks above fences, even carpets, but not paintings on valid walls. They also don't immediately pop off (one or two seconds).

A painting isn't a block.

that really exagarated, this is just a really small bit of the game, not everybody knows every single pixel of the game

Nor is a carpet, or a torch, but both of them still place above/on fence posts.

A painting is an entity. Which means it cannot be placed above a fence. It probably stays on because of lag. It doesn't even let me put on the painting.

alright let's do it like this, make mojang/mods decide if this is a bug, or if this is intended

@Bobby True, but I guess for all intents and purposes a painting appears to be a transparent block (like carpet etc), so it would make sense for it to stay up.

Anyway, we can confirm this "bug", lets let a Mod or Mojangster decide whether its intentional or actually a bug.

I work a lot on games like these, and it really upsets me that you say I know nothing about minecraft.

this thing is just a minor detail, don't get upset with it that he knows that part and you don't, who knows you know 1 milion times more about the game than him 😉

I probably do 😃 All I do all day is make maps. Ive had the game since 2012 anyways. Im not upset with myself, I'm upset with Bobby for commenting things he has no idea about.
