I downloaded the minecraft_server.14w27b.jar file, started my server with it, started minecraft with the same version and it says that the server is "Old".

Redownload the server from https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/versions/14w27b/minecraft_server.14w27b.jar and make sure to use the latest snapshot in the launcher.
