Endermen not afraid of endermite

What I expected to happen was...:
I'd spawn an endermite and an enderman would kill it

What actually happened was...:
I spawned an endermite and the enderman ignored it

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get an ender man
2. Spawn an endermite
3. enderman doesnt react
