Endermen don't attack endermites spawned using spawn eggs or /summon

Before the most recent update the endermite attracted the endermen. This, I had used to create an ender xp farm. As of the update, the endermen are no longer attracted to the endermite. Not sure if this is a bug or a change that Mojang wanted to make so thought that it might be useful to just say since it's not on any change list which I have seen thus far.
Also noticed this while checking out the new endermite model. Tested in Creative and Spectator modes, in the overworld and in the End. Endermen, both from spawn eggs and natural spawn, ignored spawn egg endermites. Unsure about naturally spawned ones.
Makes sense, I'm not surprised, thought it was a feature in the first place. Also, I can't believe nobody actually noticed that endermen would walk from far off instead of teleporting to the target, that's probably a bug.
The problem was when the Endermite is spawned with the spawn egg, it has a tag set to PlayerSpawned:0b. BUT if it is spawned by an enderpearl it is PlayerSpawned:1b. For some reason Endermen only attack Endermite if their tag is PlayerSpawned:1b which can be considered a bug.
Also Endermen still attack Endermites if no player in Survival or Adventure mode is near it. Based on the resolution of this report (and several others), they should not attack Endermites at all.
