Reopened and confirmed as I believe this to be a different issue than MC-243085. In LivingEntity:hurt()
the damage value is multiplied by 0.75, but only after the damage has been dealt to the player, so it has no effect. It does seem to change the amount of damage passed to the minecraft:entity_hurt_player
advancement trigger however.
Also, the helmet still takes twice the durability damage as normal, though not nearly as much as described in MC-243085, despite providing no more damage reduction than other armor pieces.
Please attach the log file in [minecraft/logs|https://minecrafthopper.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder/]
from the session where you experienced this issue. If you have not launched Minecraft since then, it should be latest.log
; otherwise it would be in the format year-month-date-number.log.gz
. Villager deaths are logged there so this would help us figure out if they are actually disappearing or dying.

This is very likely intentional; other underground blocks like lava also produce light levels high enough to prevent mob spawning. If you wish for this to be changed, please suggest it on the feedback website or /r/minecraftsuggestions subreddit.
This report is invalid; we only accept issues for vanilla (non-modded) Minecraft on the latest release version or snapshot.
Updated the description to include reproduction steps.
In PointedDripstoneBlock.maybeFillCauldron()
, the game appears to check if the ticked block is the topmost stalactite and has a water/lava source 2 blocks above, then attempts to find the tip up to 49 blocks downwards. It then checks for a cauldron moving downwards from the topmost stalactite and fails upon encountering anything other than air or a fillable cauldron, causing it to always fail on multi-block stalactites. Changing the cauldron check to start from the tip as opposed to the base should fix this.
@unknown, Oval was a helper when that comment was posted.
Also, does MC-5178 describe your issue? This may be an issue with the graphics driver settings rather than Minecraft itself.
Not falling into 1-block gaps while moving fast enough has been reported as MC-2301, which has been resolved as Works as Intended.
This bug tracker is only for Minecraft/Mojang related issues. Based on the error message, it appears to be an error with Discord.
