Yes, but still it was fixed for glass, so unless mojang resolves this themselfs, you can't say this is intended as it got fixed with another block, with the same issue
Why, exactly, is this WAI? Surely this should be considered a bug if it were fixed for glass.
Anyways, on the Pocket Edition, I can confirm that this "bug" affects both pistons and the backs of stairs, whilst slime blocks have this weird texture bug. Ice is unaffected as it is opaque, another seemingly works as intended feature.
If this "works as intended" for many blocks (e.g., farmland, beacons which are inconsistent with dirt and glass, respectively) then I strongly encourage you to change your intentions because they make no logical sense. What the gamer cares about is the end result, not the poor implmentation decisions. (I'm sorry if this sounds passive-aggressive, I don't mean it like that at all; just trying to give what I think is good feedback.)
After an internal discussion, we've decided to split this report into three categories of blocks:
Full blocks
Non-full blocks that are washed away by water or pop off (now maintained in MC-204842)
Non-full blocks that can be placed underwater (now maintained in MC-125351)
This report is dedicated to only the first category of blocks (at least from now on). I also took the liberty to clarify the description and summary of all three tickets. Hopefully this will clarify what block goes where.
If you find a block that should be listed here but isn't in any of the three yet, you're welcome to comment.
@unknown That is not the same issue with tinted glass. What you're seeing is the colour of water on the other side of the block. Water does not show the flowing water animation on the sides of tinted glass.
