When a trap door is placed on a block facing either east or west, the model of the trap door isn't aligned with the hit box and instead appears on the opposite side of which it was placed when opened. Another problem is that trap doors are open when placed unlike in older versions of minecraft where it's closed when placed.

only on blocks that are facing east and west, affects both the wooden and iron trap door. open when placed in any environment.
Confirmed. East West Trap doors are offset from point of placement and North South Trap Doors are placed vertically (open) instead of horizontally (closed).
