I don't know if it's a bug or if they are supposed to swim how they do but rabbits don't look quite right when swimming, they look as if they are sitting down and jumping...?
This is the first time I've played with rabbits so I'm just exploring how they work in different environments.

As I said, this is my first oppetunity to see the rabbits. I LOVE THEM! 😃
They're a great addition to the game!

Here it is sitting down in water...

They act kind of like slimes in the way they move! They have the same kind of jumping pattern and normally face one direction (well... they like to jump backwards) and just jump that way.

Please write information about your system in "environment", not where you are on Minecraft. 🙂

Does that mean my computer specs?

I have an Intel Core Quad CPU on Windows 7. My system type is a 64-bit Operating System.
My Java is version 7 update 60 (build 1.7.0_60-b19).
Hope this helps!

Is this still an issue in the latest 1.8 snapshot ?

I don't know because the tick speeds for me in the snapshots from 14w25a onwards have been very slow. Everything except the player moves as if I'm getting a low framerate. I tried reporting that bug but I haven't had time to do so because it takes a while to search for simular issues.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.

Keep in mind that the "Resolved"-Status on this ticket just means "Answered", and that we are waiting for further information on whether this issue still exists or not. We will reopen it as soon as the requested information has been delivered.

It is not. It got solves in one of the later 1.8 snapshots, maybe a couple of weeks since the first 1.8 pre-release.
