I am experiencing heavy connection lag in singleplayer since snapshot 14w25a, identical to that which I may experience in multiplayer.
I have a very poor internet service, and I think this poor connection is the reason I am capable of experiencing the connection lag.
I DO NOT think anyone with decent internet will be able to recreate this. I can provide a video if necessary.

For me, knockback in any survival, or default, certain superflats, and customized are really laggy.

I'd suggest you update your ancient version of Java. Then, if you still experience this issue, attach the complete contents of the development console, and a manually-triggered crash report (hold F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game) to this ticket.

I can't. Something's wrong with my computer. I've downloaded the Java installer a million times in the past but the console still tells me I have 1.6.

Follow these directions to remove any accumulated old versions of Java from your computer, and then use the offline installer to get the latest version. If you need any help with this, please use the Mojang Support Center.

I have decent internet and this bug happens to me as well. Slimes and rabbits look like they're moving in slow-mo, and when I hit one they get lifted up to the air and float for like 10+ seconds.
