Creating a netherportal isn't stable

When you set up a portal in the overworld near a place where there was a portal (has been destroyed on both sides). Strange things happen:

  • like putting you in the nether without a portal back

  • the portalframe apearing without being lit

  • apearing in the nether inside a wall, floor or ceiling, above or below the portal

Can't reproduce, please attach the world save and provide instructions of the exact steps to reproduce.

Instructions:
1) create a new world in creative mode (I've used this seed: 1139890542)
2) build a portal and activate it
3) go to the nether and disable the portal (either by destroying a block or the hole portal
4) do /kill and go back through that portal
5) you should now be in the nether with the remains of the old portal

in the testworld, I've already done everything up to step 4 (didn't go back yet).
If you repeat the proces, somtimes you get a portal, sometimes you don't and rarely (until now it happend 1 time out of about 50 tries) you get stuck inside a wall and the portal won't be lit

That's been the behavior of portal since they were introduced. If you destroy a portal and a new one is created next time you walk through the portal in the overworld, a completely new portal is created.
It would be a bug if the nether portal was still active and a new one would be created.

ok, never mind then. I thought this was a new bug. Sorry about that 😉
