Placing wooden slabs crash the game

well if you have a torch and you place a slab over the torch the game will crash :/

This only happens with the wood slabs. Not any kind of slabs, just WOOD slabs.

confirmed for OSX Mavericks, Java8
I placed a woodenslab on a wooden slab to make a doubleslab

I find that slabs will crash game whenever you place a slab when your crosshair is on another slab, this can be above, below or on the sides...

I could only do it when placing a wood slab against any block when it was above a water source. When I tried to replicate the bug though the game never crashed. I could only get the game to crash when placing above that specific water source.

I did what Marcello did, along with the other examples, and did not crash once. With the water source one I lagged a lot, but quickly recovered.
