Hopper Freezes

Bug:
Hopper Stopped Put out items. broke iron titan how can I fix the iron farm with out rebuilding it and how can I stop this from happening again. (MCedit may be to blame but idk)
In Detail:
My Iron Titan stopped producing a ton of iron. I checked the redstone and found that one hopper had all the items and stopped putting them out. no redstone was connected to this hopper except what I was told to put there and it has always functioned fine before, even after I had gone 30,000+ blocks away on both axis. Please fix this bug and tell me if you think that replacing the villages.dat/Villages.dat files with a backup from my backup worlds might fix my farm thx
