[MC-6264] Skeleton doesn't take damage

when in one deep water i hit a skeleton with a stone sword and it didn't take damage no matter how many times i hit it

Did the skeleton turn red? Were you close enough?

no the skeleton did not turn red and i was less than one block away

I'm having the same issue in 1.6.1 (the latest version of Minecraft). I had the same bug, it happened to me twice. https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC-19906
