Chunk updates are delayed/skipped?

Breaking a block sometimes leaves the block visible, despite not being able to interact.

Breaking another block in the chunk (possibly outside as well) sometimes clears the remaining blocks up.

Placed blocks have the same problem, they sometimes don't appear until another chunk update is forced
