Chests remain visible after breaking although do not function. When breaking a chest item drops and goes to inventory normally, but the chest remains there. After reloading world it disappears.

Yeah I had that too. Its something to do with the rendering. You can either quit the world/server and join again or if in a SP world, do F3+A to reload the chunks and it fixes it temporarily. But its definitely a rendering bug.
