[MC-6346] Torches on ground but not facing up

I was in creative mode, building a street light system. I put a torch on the side of a block, and accidently destroyed the block, but the torch was still there.

Yes, it does happen in 13w01b. Just not very often.

As you see in my attachment, the torch is on the ground, but the torch is not facing upward. No, I did not use a paint program to rotate it.
