dubble chests are not cornecting properly

after i made some double chests and unloaded the chunks and when i came back to them i noticed that the texture was acting wired it had basically made an unexisting chest to the east that one side of the double chest connected to (all of the normal chests was acing north) and i culd also place a block on one the block the fake chest stood on
