[MC-63696] Player changes ID over lan.

In the latest snapshots (since ID was introduced to allow name change) my friends id (eg. 38974-2uhdai-w97.dat) is changing time to time, he has the same account and havent change name either, we play over VPN LAN and the only way to solve the problem is to rename his old playerfile name with his new ID cause otherwise he will start a new character,as said this problem was not possible before the name-changing-update.

Have you ever played in offline mode, even if you both have accounts?

No, we have allways played with both accounts being online.

What is the username(s, all of the usernames that have changed their UUID's), and UUID's that they've changed to?

96ad568f71164f2dbbd6f63031d3a67b is the correct ID. You were probably in offline mode unknowingly.

So each player has 2 id's? One for offline and one for online?
This issue is really annoying for someone who plays lan over a patchy netwrok!

When you are offline, the game cannot know your UUID
