multiplayer doesnt work

(this is for ALL 1.7 versions and 1.8 snapshots)

just after downloading mac osx 10.10 on a usb and running it, I hated it and switched back to 10.9. So I played a bit of minecraft and went on a server. only to find that it crashed my game, It worked before I installed it and apparently the issue was "bbe.class"...See the crash file

Duplicate of MC-38527. Your view distance is set to an invalid value. Likely switching to a 1.7 release version after using a snapshot, or editing the options.txt file.

My render distance was set to 3 chuncks, but turning up over 16 chunks and back fixed it
