to something likerenderDistance:12
Save the file
Downgrading is not, was never and will never be officially supported. If you are using Snapshots, use them in a different folder like you are told to when activating Snapshots. Otherwise, issues like this will occur.
I tried to modify my settings to what i have set them to through Minecraft directory then i put my chunks to 20 chunks instead of 16 it worked in 13w43a but now it doesn't.

If you are putting in random numbers, you are going to get random results, don't do it 🙂
Actually, even people who do it all ingame get the same problem.
Ex. I kept trying to get in a 1.7.10 server after messing around in 14w31a.
