The render distance has been set to an invalid value that isn't supported in 1.7.4. There are instructions in that post to resolve this.
I don’t speack english very well, when i want to play in multiplayer minecraft crash but i don’t know why… it’s happened with all of the versions (i play in 1.7.4 or 1.7.2 or 1.8) why would i can help you to find my problem ? (screen shot ?)
