[MC-76966] Game Crashes on Startup

The game will not load a new world because it crashes immediately after saying "building world" or whatever, and on 1.8 I just fall through the earth indefinitely.

Environment

OS: Windows 7 (ver 6.1, arch amd64)
Java: 1.8.0_25 (by Oracle Corporation)
Launcher: Minecraft Launcher 1.6.5 (bootstrap 4)
Minecraft: 1.7.9 (updated Mon Apr 14 10:29:23 ADT 2014)
