Chunk loading issues

I have never had this problem before and its not like i have a underpowered computer but when i fly around in creative i get chunk loading errors like the photos attached. this happens every time i am flying around in creative.

To recreate.

1. create a default world in creative and fly towards the edge of the loaded world. maybe changing directions a few times and doubling back on your self.

Update:
pressing F3 + a re loads the chunks but does not try to load the ones that have not been generated previously. So basically it doesn't help...

My best guess is that the current snapshots just need some optimization.

What is your graphics card and what are your video settings?

Does MC-56917 describe the bug?

Hayden James

I have a 'NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 750M 2GB DDR5' and my ram is '16GB Dual Channel DDR3L 1600MHz (8GBx2)' but pressing F3 in MC it tells me i am using my 'Intel HD Graphics 4400' card. Can i Change That? My video settings are fancy graphics and 20 chunk render distance.... tbh I think its all default.

Hayden James

no... My problem is it just doesn't load chunks fast enough

I am getting this a lot. Should definitely be confirmed and fixed.

This bug is still presistent in 14w34a.

Temporal Fix: Set View Distance to 15 or below.. Seems to be a bug in the internal server. Setting the view distance above 15 on a server is also buggy.

can people please vote for this! it is a pretty serious bug, while the chunk loading speed is supposed to be faster it turns out it can sometimes be SLOWER than 1.7!

Sebastian Presser

Yes Please!

I'm uploading a video of the bug the way it appears to me: http://youtu.be/0kHLt7aTowQ

[00:16:48] [Chunk Batcher 0/WARN]: Needed to grow BufferBuilder buffer: Old size 524288 bytes, new size 2621440 bytes.
[00:16:49] [Chunk Batcher 0/WARN]: Needed to grow BufferBuilder buffer: Old size 524288 bytes, new size 2621440 bytes.

These console messages appeared during loading..

I tried to increase the allocated memory (1GB->4GB) but the bug's still here (i have it too, for extreme custom world presets like caves of chaos)... :/

The issue showed the 2nd and consecutive times I loaded a single player world (with default settings for creation). I am using a 4th generation core i7, 16G DDR3-1866 RAM with a GeForce 750m. My frame rates for multiplayer exceed 320 ... but this issue reduces them to an uplayable 2!

Changing the render distance causes this warning ([00:16:48] [Chunk Batcher 0/WARN]: Needed to grow BufferBuilder buffer: Old size 524288 bytes, new size 2621440 bytes.) to stop.

Seems render distances greater than 24 reduces my frame rate to less then 45. Render distances from 25 to 29 degrade performance at a non-linear rate down to an impressively bad 2 fps. 30, 31 and 32 create crashes after 5 minutes or less.

I would call this a problem.

NOTE: Multi-player Realms games run at render distance 32 without trouble. This problem seems to only manifest with my single player games (no mods).

Sebastian Presser

The problem is not persistent in any kind of multi-player, because the server only sends a maximum of 15 chunks (in any direction) to the client. But in single player you are actually able to make minecraft load all 32 chunks. On my pc it doesn't really decrease framerate notable, but I also get those messages about the BufferBuilder buffer and Mc crashes a few minutes later. I get some kind of nvidia error code message there.. But I wasn't able to find anything on the Internet for this particular error code. I have i7-2600k overclocked, 2xgtx760 and 16gb of ram. I wonder why you are experiencing the fps differently at the same conditions.

But this is indeed STILL a huge problem.
IS mojang following the EA style releasing its games buggy?
