Ferns to Peony

Whenever I break double tall grass or tall ferns, for the split second of it breaking, it looks like I'm breaking a Peony. It basically just turns into a different plant, but it still drops seeds like it's supposed to. Recently, one fern completely turned into a sunflower when I broke it.
