Beacon doesn't seem to give effects in 14w31a

I made pyramids in Creative and Survival mode, Beacon is producing a Beam, but after feeding with iron, emerald, gold or diamond, choosing an effect and pressing Done, the item is not consumed and it's not giving any status effect. My inventory GUI is not showing any effect too.
