Chests do not render

Updated server to new snapshot 14w32b. Logged in. None of my chests are drawn (14w32a was o.k.). I get a "hit" box and I can click on them and see the contents of the chests and the open sound is played, but the chest itself is not rendered at all. It does not seem to matter on which surface a chest is placed.
