Item Drop Crash Corrupted World

Put the summary of the bug you're having here
I was harvesting my semiautomatic wheat farm, which wasnt very large at all only had about 100 wheat planted, and when the water rushed over the wheat it broke it up then my minecraft closed out and the world i was playing on no longer showed up on my worlds list even though itwas still in the .minecraft saves folder.
What I expected to happen was...:
I thought the items would have simply been carried by the current into the collection stream so i could collect them all and continue my egg farming and chicken farming.
What actually happened was...:
Instead of working correctly, the minecraft window just closed without a noticeable lag spike or FPS drop. I noticed minecraft lagging out before on the same world when there was a substantial amount of eggs to be collected but the world was still playable.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have lots of grown planted wheat (or a lot of any item drop on the ground)
2. Create a lot of drops on the ground at one time (i did it with water and also the accumulation of a lot of eggs)
3. Basically just walk around until minecraft closes itself.
4. Attempt to go back onto the same world

I have included a copy of the world ( changed name from "14w30c snapshot world" world to "1.8 snapshot world" and compressed the file with WinRar to be able to send it).

Workaround: create a world with the exact same name as the world is named.
