I'm new to this, but after the recent update I went to my house to find three of four chests missing; one containing all my ores, books, and other most valuables.
One chest in the house remained, and all of my remotes were fine, but I lost all my valuable commodities.
Did I do something wrong?

There should really have been a warning that 1.4.7 does NOT include the new redstone additions. I had to restore my save folder to a previous version because of it after reinstalling the snapshot.

Thank you for taking the time to help me; I’m grateful. I’m very new to the game and just graduated from PE to PC.
So condemn me for a noob but I don’t understand either of those phrases, yet. Anyway, I went back to the game during lunch and everything was back, that was missing last night. It must have been the update. At my stage, it just seemed catastrophic to lose all of my stockpile.
Still I hope I didn’t waste too much of your time. I have a million questions, but I’ll do my best figure it all out. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to point me in the right direction.

Did you used 13w01 snapshot before that? And were those chests trapped chests?
