Mining Fatigue does not affect redstone

Please forgive me if this is not a bug, but the wiki does not specify if there are any blocks that are not to be affected by mining fatigue.

In survival with mining fatigue applied to me:

/effect ogradyjd 4 10 255 true

I can still break redstone powder layed on a block on the first hit. I have tried changing the level to any number from 5 and up and redstone "wire" is still breakable. The arm does slow down and other blocks that I have tried are still unbreakable. I'm logging a bug because all documentation I've read either implicitly or explicitly states that all blocks are affected by the mining fatigue effect.

If you need anything else from me for this defect, please let me know.

Confirmed for 14w33c. And I think I recall redstone wire not being breakable with mining fatigue

Mining fatigue slows down mining, but the breaking speed of redstone is instant, and you can't decrease X% from instant. So it might be intended, but I'm not sure.

Of course you can decrease the breaking speed of "instant". Just divide by zero. See? This coding stuff isn't that hard.

On a more serious note, if it were possible to have mining fatigue affect the breaking of all objects including "instants", you'd be able to use the effect as a form of world guard, albeit a localized form based on a repeater circuit and a command block to constantly re-apply mining fatigue. Hint: It sure would be nice to have things like world guard in vanilla servers 🙂
