Can't put things in Item Frame facing East or west. Also if you try to destroy the item frame the block behind the item frame is destroyed instead.
North and South facing works fine.

Okay after extensive testing I can confirm this bug exists and is 100% reproducible.
This is not related to anything you've put in your world.
This bug is completely affected outside of the world X/Z box coordinates of 524289 to -524288
Because your location is beyond this coordinate, your home is affected.
Steps to reproduce
1. Create a superflat world
2. Teleport to
/tp @p 0 ~ 524289
3. Place two blocks
/setblock 0 ~ 524289 stone
/setblock -1 ~ 524288 stone
4. Place item frames on the south side of each block
5. Notice the strange visual behaviour. Also the block cannot be placed properly inside the item frame of the block further from 0,0.
That should give enough detail for Searge to work with. But I suggest you update the title of your report to:
Item frames do not work outside 524289 x -524288 coordinates
For more weirdness, you can test at the corner of the "box"
/tp @p 524289 ~ 524289
/tp @p -524288 ~ -524288
Place a block on the ground and place item frames on each side of the block. Then place a block closer towards 0, 0 and notice the changes with the item frame placement and items inside the item frames.

Cannot reproduce.

Sometimes these things are biome specific. .. I was in a Tioga biome.
The bug is real and reproducible.

If that's the case, where is the world download and detailed repro instructions?

I will when I can. The world also has another unresolved glitch you can look at too. Farmers have stopped farming as per another thread I've been posting in. I hope it helps but it will be a few days till I can get at the files.

I don't think you understand what Searge is implying here. If you're not including any proof with your report, the bug won't get much attention and likely resolved as cannot reproduce. Also, one bug per report.

I get it. I just don't have access to the computer... Additionally, one person saying they couldn't reproduce the bug is not conclusive... as I said, it could be biome specific and there has been no feedback since my second post.
I'm 48 and an IT professional... I enjoy the sand box nature of this fantastic game... I wouldn't post a bug that I didn't feel was valid.
I'll post the proof when I'm able.

But you need to provide steps to reproduce. Otherwise there is not much use in posting the bug.

Loaded new superflat Taiga world, still cannot reproduce. Can't do much else without detailed steps to reproduce.
I'm also not aware of any "biome-specific" bugs.

Steps:
Put down some wooden blocks....
Put an item frame on the east or west face....
Try to put something in the frame...
See that the item doesn't go INTO the frame [see screenshot]...
now try to destroy it...
see that you break the block behind it instead of the frame...
notice that SOME TIMES as the frame is suspended in mid air it spawns several frames before breaking.
Unaware of biome specific bugs? Just a few snapshots ago block textures were corrupting over Ocean biomes only.

Please understand, I don't want to argue. I'm trying to source this bug for you.
As for the ocean-specific bug, you'll have to post the link because I couldn't find any that specifically said the biome was an issue. There were some related to water and the chunk missing bugs had nothing to do with biome.
Here's a test video to show you I cannot reproduce your bug.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qu9g7MrQAiM
There is some info you are missing. I can't move any further with this without your world seed and coordinates.
As for the item frames being suspended, that normal behaviour if the block behind has been broken.

This is a bug tracker, not a discussion board. Unless I get a map to reproduce this issue, this won't be reopened.

I'm not arguing... I'm on a cell so my posts are contrite.
Apparently, the bug is configuration specific and not a universal bug because qmagnet's video clearly reproduces the exact instance where my bug manifests itself.
I am away from my computer for the next few days but I have every intention of supplying the world download and coords. I'll even supply more of a configuration description.
I apologize if it seemed I was arguing. It wasn't my intention.

I was afraid of that, the world is way too big to upload.
I did do a video: http://youtu.be/9REmKfLDKAo
2 Minutes 9 Seconds
There's no spoken audio.
It is isolated to that specific world. I created a Savanna Plains world and a regular world and both worked the correct way, but my "Play" world is messed up as seen in the video.

Can a mod reopen this bug please?

I'm glad to know that I'm not 100% bonkers. Thanks qmagnet! Since the bug is reproducible, I'm going to remove the world download.

Also, add those steps to reproduce I posted in your report description.

Searge, I posted a world file that contains the bug

@Joseph, if you put commands inside curly bracket noformat tags, it's easier to read

Can someone please reopen this? We've added a world file.

Confirmed for 1.8-pre1
Please reopen and retest with world file.

This should have been marked a duplicate of MC-56551. Oh well. I can confirm that it is fixed in 1.8-pre2.
